A much sillier thing than Luma + Sol, and a break from it. It's at the stage where it's fun for about ninety seconds, which is the stage where most of my projects either die or get good.

The studio

Duskfall Studios — or at least the idea of it — started in 2020, during the pandemic. It was a hobby then and in most ways it still is one. I've wanted to make games since I was a kid, but never the version of it with someone else's deadlines attached, or the language people start using once there's a roadmap involved. Working alone means a thing goes out when it's actually finished. That's slower. It's also the whole point.

Luma + Sol came first because a friend kept saying every couples app was either too barebones to be worth opening or so overloaded it was exhausting. I thought there was room in the middle. They're also the reason any of this exists — I wasn't sure I could build something people would actually use, and they were.

It's built in Flutter on a Firebase backend. I'm not a career game developer — I learned most of this building the thing you're looking at, and there are corners of it I'd write differently if I started over. Design, code, art, and the support emails all come from the same desk.

I like software you can check in on for a few minutes. No ads, no feeds, no pressure to keep playing. Things ship when they're finished, and get updated after that.
